Hollister....
We went for a little drive today about 5 miles from our house...guess what we ran into?
A pack of deer....I think we counted 10 of them. They are such beautiful animals.

Roaring Camp...
We had a blast at Roaring Camp. Tyler was so excited to go on a train ride...it was a steam engine.

Circus...
We had a ball at the circus today. Tyler loved it the most. The clowns were hilarious and the elephants were so good!!

Another Birthday...
Tyler made me a birthday card today...it was so cute!
We are celebrating my birthday today since I'll be having surgery on my real birthday. YIKES!!!
Norma made a spaghetti dinner that was scrumptious! And for dessert, my favorite...angel food cake with strawberries, whip cream and rocky road ice cream. It was so good! I also got a gift certificate to TJ Maxx, some lotions, a pair of tinted goggles and a super long beach towel! We've joined the YMCA and I've taken up swimming laps so these items will definitely come in handy! Thank you to everyone who made my day special! Today was a super great day!

Remembering Aussie
Today was a pretty rough day for us...we had to find a new home for Aussie. Tyler took it the hardest...I felt so bad for him. We talked about all the funny things she use to do and how she will make another family laugh. His sadness is not over yet, but he is doing better. We made a collage of Tyler and Aussie; then put her collar on the frame of the picture. It turned out really cute. We hung it in Tyler's room so he will always have his sweet Aussie girl.

A boo boo...
Tyler fell off his bed and hit a knob on his dresser...what a sight. It is the most awful feeling hearing your child scream. I am sure it will be black & blue today.

A trip to the dentist...
Tyler took the camera and photographed his first trip to the dentist with permanent teeth!

A Fire...
Behind the barn of our neighbor's house, they had a burn fire. It was interesting to watch but we kept our distance.

Bulbs to plants...
7 more bulbs in pots...they should be ready in about a week to transplant.
This bulb was planted last weekend....it is shooting right up!
Here is our oldest bulb...it is really taking off!
Scott planted sweet corn. In a few weeks we will transfer them to the ground. We should have corn by July 26, 2009!
A shrub I planted about two weeks ago, it is now flowering! Yeah!!

Gardening
We have been working on a garden for a few weeks. Scott planted some bulbs we got at Costco a few weeks ago and I planted some shrubs. We have been watering and weeding it...and finally, there is growth! We are so excited!

A quick trip to Chandler
Tyler and I drove east last week to get the house ready for our new tenants. They are so nice....I am so excited we have a great family moving into our home. We also got to take a drive to Tucson to see my parents. They took us out for a nice Easter dinner. Tyler even got another Easter basket. He scored 3 this year ~ one from the San Jose Easter Bunny, one from the Hollister East Bunny and finally the Tucson Easter Bunny. He is one lucky dude. We also got to spend time with our neighbors on Temple. We had a great dinner with them the last night we were there.
Now we are back in Hollister...it was a LONG drive home, but we pulled into our driveway 8 minutes ahead of schedule! It was so nice to sleep in my own bed last night!

Easter Brunch
We had a really great time at the Brock's for Easter Brunch. Norma made the most scrumptious baked French Toast I have ever had. The fruit was so sweet and yummy too. Not to mention the Easter cookies. After we ate, we had an Easter Egg Hunt for the kids...wow, did they find lots of goodies!! Then we played BINGO...man that was fun! Guess who the big winner was....heh heh heh!! It was nice to see Jim and Brenda again too. Here is our family photo after a fun Easter day!

No April Fools!
OMG...who would have guessed. I have been avoiding having people over like the plague because the house we bought has such awful stained carpet throughout. We purchased red oak hardwood for the floors, but haven't started the project yet. The wood is here. Scott pulled up the stained carpet in part of the living room last night...and look what he found underneath...not that it is great (fake wood linoleum tile)...but it is so much better than the carpet.

Casa De Fruta
We drove up to Casa De Fruta to get dried peaches and chocolate covered pecans. It was lots of fun. Tyler took our picture out front...he's got the photography genes!

A trip to Monterey, CA....
We had so much fun today. As we walked along the wharf, we got to see a pack of sea lions hanging out and a seal cracking open an oyster on his belly. We saw pelicans and pigeons too. But probably the most interesting was a rescue team that caught a sea lion with a six pack of hard plastic around its head. They were taking it in to be cleaned up and then release it back into the water.

Ka - boom!!!
So we are all on our computers this morning when we here a huge ka-boom! A fuse blows...we have no electricity! Oh man...what do we do now. Scott goes out to see if he can fix what ever happened. Our neighbor has been trimming trees and one fell on the power line. No one has electricity...YIKES!! About 40 minutes pass, then pulls up the guy who is going to save the day...a PGE guy! He trims some of our enormous tree so branches don't fall on the power line again, then he restores the power for all of us!! YEAH...we are all in business again. Makes me wonder what they did before electricity...I don't even want to know. I am thinking we save up for a generator just incase we need one down the road!

We're back....
I drove to Chandler last week to get the house fixed up for sale. It looks so good...the house was professionally cleaned, painted and carpeted....what a difference. It looks like a new home!
It was so nice to see family and friends during our visit. We had dinner the first night with a friend. It was such a great night...we had a lot of fun.
Tyler got to go to Kids Express and see all his buddies...he was so excited!
We also spent a wonderful day hanging out with Nana and Grandad. I think they loved all of Tyler's vampire jokes...among others. (What did one eye say to the other eye? Something between us smells! heh heh heh ~ one of the favorites)
We got a lot accomplished last week in Arizona...but it sure is good to be back in California again!

We made it!
We have arrived in Hollister, CA. It took 15 hours of driving from Chandler...but everyone and everything got here safe and sound. A big thank you to my dad for helping us pack the old house, drive the rental truck & trailer, and unpack at the new house. He also installed a water softener for us! We tried to talk him into staying another week...we could of had a new house by then! Now the chore of moving in. We bought a "short sale" home and it is a mess. Everything needs to be cleaned or thrown out...walls need to be painted...floors and carpet ripped up and new put down. We shall be busy for quite awhile...but when its finished, we are going to have a beautiful home.

What a fantastic ending...we intercepted the ball! I was holding my breath while the Eagles had it...bouncing from player to player...then out of nowhere, we took it. The Cardinals are so good at that...when you least expect it, there they are...wham...the ball is ours! Man that was such a good game! What a team...a fantastic game...GO CARDINALS!!
