Phoenix Suns Gorilla

Today we went to the AZ Autism Basketball Camp.  Tyler had a blast.  There were so many great volunteers to work with the children, but the best part of the day was the Phoenix Suns Gorilla.  He was so wonderful with all the kids.  It was a fantastic day!

D1X...

Tonight I got my old camera's out just to play.  I've really missed my D1X's.  I think the colors are so much better than my D2X.  It was a hot day today...so I had water at my desk to shoot.

Then I found my favorite big boy to shoot....

Most of the pictures on my blog are with a Canon G9...a pocket camera.  I like the camera...but I love my D1X's.

Tyler's last day as a 1st grader....

My baby is growing up!  He jumped in the car after school today and said "I'm a second grader now Mom!"  He was so excited. He had a great teacher this year.  She is going to another school next year...and we will miss her.

Happy Mother's Day!

Scott gave me a few plants for Mother's Day...and then planted them for me too.  He got two Chilean Mesquite trees and two Hibiscus trees!  What a guy!!

I got some beautiful tulips (my favorite) from Scott's parents today.  It was a wonderful surprise!

Tyler made me a gift at school this year...it is just precious!  He picked dark purple and painted it!  What a guy!!

The Dog Races....

We went to the Cinco de Mayo celebration in downtown Chandler today.  We saw bands playing and lots of dancing.  Tyler said it looked like the dancers were mashing potatoes!  The highlight of the day was watching the Chihuahua dog races.  What a sight that was to see...really funny!  We had a good time.

Sib Shops

I had the best day today.  I met some wonderful kids and great ladies through CITT.  What a wonderful workshop they put on for kids with brothers or sisters who have a special need.  This workshop was just for them.  It was so nice to see them smile and have some fun!  I can't wait to work with them again.

Hospice of the Valley

I am so excited.  I've been asked to photograph an event this weekend that is near and dear to my heart.  My son has been the recipient of many grants through CITT and they have asked me to photograph their Sib Event.  I can't tell you what a wonderful organization this is...had it not been for their grants, Tyler would not have been able to continue with speech and occupational therapy.

A trip to the Rain Forest!

One of our favorite places to eat is in the Mills Mall at the Rain Forest Cafe.  Tyler loves the thunder and watching all the animals move about.  It really is a cool place to go...and their BBQ cheddar cheese hamburgers are so good!!

Happy New Year! 

I can't believe it's 2008 but I am going to make this year the best one yet.

I wonder what the year has in store for all of us?  Will it be a record of foreclosures?  Who will win the presidency?  Will the best person win?  What makes that person the best?  Will there be a cure for AIDS?  for Cancer?  What will happen in our world?  Will I be able to make the world a better place?  How can I make a difference?  These are just a few things that crossed my mind this morning...this first day of 2008.

Resolutions.  I did think about that too.  Should I or shouldn't I make one?  Maybe two?  Is it healthy to make a resolution or just a trap to make you feel like a failure?  Seems everyone wants to lose weight, be healthy and happy.  If I were to make a resolution this year, it would be one that I know I could do, achievable and within reach.  After much consideration, I did make a resolution.  Just one.  My resolution is to try, and I do mean try, to not say anything negative about anyone.  My mother use to tell us when we were kids, if you don't have anything nice to say about someone, then don't say anything.  There is a certain charm and intellectual message in that sentence to me.  It sounds so easy but I know it will require thought before I speak.

I wish you success with your resolution and peace this year.
